Bocaina do Farias
One of the least-known canyons in the Chapada, in São João d'Aliança: reddish walls hemmed over crystal-clear water, with pools for swimming in the riverbed. A strenuous, quiet trail — an adventurer's outing, ideal for anyone already on a second visit to the region.
- The trail is faintly marked and hard to read — a local guide is recommended and required by operators in the area.
- Best in the dry season (May–Oct); in the rains the canyon and riverbed stretches become dangerous from flash floods.
